Day 1 : Mornington Peninsula Lunch Wine and Art Walk at Pt Leo Estate
The Mornington Peninsula Food and Wine journey includes hotel transfers, allowing you to sit back and relax in the comfort of your custom vehicle and just enjoy the stunning scenery. A maximum of 6 guests is booked but it’s likely that there will be less! We love small group touring and can provide and receive a service that is only unique to small group touring and the relationships we have nurtured with the wineries over 22 years. “AS SEEN IN BEST OF THE MORNINGTON PENINSULA” Epicurean Food and Wine Tours continue their tradition of visiting family owned and operated wineries in all Victorian wine regions. As our guest, you will be able to fully appreciate the hard work, dedication and passion that is involved in producing great wine as well as the love on the Mornington Peninsula for local produce. The area is considered to be a foodie mecca. Join us on the ultimate Mornington Peninsula Food and Wine Tour. Our first stop, just an hour from the Melbourne City is Rare Hare at Jackalope Hotel where we visit the cellar door for a fun wine tasting of estate and village wines. The region is known for cool climate varietals, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and you will taste the exceptional qualities of these at Rare Hare cellar door. We then visit Quealy Winemakers where the tasting is hosted in the character filled cellar door. Pioneer winemaker Kathleen Quealy was the first winemaker to plant Pinot Gris in Australia so you can expect to taste Gris and Grigio along with outstanding Pinot Noirs. Our lunch venue is the local favourite, Merrick's General Wine Store where the ambiance is cosy and equally enchanting. Housed in a historic building built in 1924, Merrick's General Wine Store exudes rustic elegance. The cosy interior, complete with wooden beams and a crackling fireplace, provides a warm and inviting atmosphere. In warmer months we can sit on the terrace shaded by a verandah of climbing vines. It's the ideal setting to relax for lunch, and your new favourite wine. After lunch is the modern Pt Leo Estate where you can enjoy a walk around their world renowned Art Park, featuring large scale sculptures by local and international artists with a magnificent backdrop of Westernport Bay. We return to Melbourne via the famous lookout of Arthur's Seat for expansive views over Port Phillip Bay. Please note there are limited spots and we tour in a group of 6 or offer a private option for two guests.
