Itinerary

Day 1: Itinerary

Our guide plays relaxing tunes as you head north across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, over the Hawkesbury River, and onto Australia’s oldest wine production region — the renowned Hunter Valley! The first stop is an outstanding boutique winery where an expert takes you through tastings of their outstanding red and white wines including the region’s famous varietals including Shiraz and Semillon. We visit a second charming cellar door before lunch for more private wine tastings Next it’s off to a local brewery for a banquet-style lunch where you can choose (own expense) which local beverage to enjoy with your meal. There is another cellar door nearby or you can walk among the vines taking photos. Feeling content, our next stop is spirits tastings at the home of the unique glitter vodka! Always a laugh and very educational! The day ends with some free time to explore the local village to try some local cheese and chocolate samples, hunt down the Dragon Schnapps for a fiery tasting or browse the shops for a memento. Throughout the day, you may purchase as much wine and cheese as you please as we take a cooler bag to keep the cheese cool and plenty of room for those bottles or cases of wine

Our lovely tour guide is Ronnie. He made our trip light, fun and he was equipped with knowledge about Hunter Valley. He drives safely and always check up on us if we are doing alright during the trip. We tasted 20 wine, chocy and biccy alongside! Slice of heaven on earth! Since the behind the scene was closed for viewing, he took us to the distillery and chocolate shops instead. We tasted organic gin and vodka on test tube, it was very interesting! We tried chocolates too to finish off our day. On this tour, I learned and and gained experience a lot about wine, cheese, chocy and vodka. I highly recommend this trip to solo travelers like me, for couple or groups. It suits anyone :)
